Roseye (Netherlands)

When we saw Roseye perform at North Sea Jazz last year, we knew immediately that we had to bring this band to Jazzkaar! These young and ambitious musicians hail from across Europe, establishing their creative hub in Amsterdam, where they craft genre-bending, groove-driven music. Their performances are electrifying, their stage presence commanding, and their sound has drawn comparisons to Hiatus Kaiyote. Despite being a newcomer on the scene, Roseye has already played at prestigious festivals in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, while their music has earned airplay on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 3, and NPO.

Roseye is led by the charismatic Tallulah Rose, whose mesmerising vocals intertwine psychedelic rhythms and ethereal melodies. This five-piece band transcends genre boundaries, effortlessly blending soul, jazz, hip-hop, and rich electronic textures into a dynamic, immersive sound. The band’s debut album, Every Move, was released under Super-Sonic Jazz Records in the Netherlands. Reflecting on the freshly released album, Rose shares: “We love diving deep into music, explosively mixing groove-heavy vibrations with serene, dreamlike sounds. We wanted the album to feel like a journey through highs and lows.”

The explosive debut of this young ensemble is fuelled by crashing cymbals, jazz-infused dramatic progressions, fiery saxophone, pulsating synthesisers, and a groove-heavy rhythm section. Amidst this vibrant energy, Tallulah Rose’s passionate vocals and introspective lyrics take centre stage, delivering a performance that is both electrifying and deeply moving.
