RAIVO TAFENAU QUARTET & GUESTS, TALLINN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

At the opening of Jazzkaar 2021, Raivo Tafenau will perform a spectacular concert, presenting the best of his work so far. He will be joined on the stage by Heikko Remmel, Joel Remmel, Ramuel Tafenau, Rasmus Puur and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra as well as Raul Sööt, Siim Aimla and Meelis Vind, who made the arrangements for all the songs. The Same Differences was released last December, but its presentation concert will take place at this year’s Jazzkaar. The album was also nominated for Best Jazz Album at this year’s Estonian Music Awards and has an extraordinary sound on the Estonian jazz scene.

A saxophonist, accordionist, ensemble leader, composer and program manager of TAFF Club, Raivo Tafenau is one of the most dazzling personalities representing Estonian jazz. He graduated from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School with the accordion as his major, but has later mainly performed as a saxophonist. Tafenau is an excellent communicator, always in high spirits, able to open the hearts of his listeners to the music he passionately loves.

The concert takes place in cooperation with the Tallinn Philharmonic.
