MiaMee (Estonia-Finland)

Founded in 2011, the Estonian alternative pop ensemble MiaMee blends delicate and smoky vocals with lyrical intensity and rebellious energy. Often compared to Lykke Li and Björk for its eccentricity and distinctive vocal character, the band is now making its long-awaited return to the stage after a six-year hiatus – with new energy, a fresh lineup, and an entirely renewed repertoire.

Over 13 years, MiaMee has welcomed many exceptional musicians, yet it has always maintained its distinct identity. The unique voice of Liina Tralla, paired with electronics and richly textured guitar arrangements, creates an atmospheric soundscape that guides audiences on an emotional journey. MiaMee’s debut album, Some Other Me (2014), struck a perfect balance between bold energy and introspective serenity. In addition to her work with MiaMee, lead vocalist Liina has also released two acclaimed solo albums, Õhtulaulud (2019) and Püüdmata tunne (2022).

At Jazzkaar Festival, MiaMee will take the stage with a fresh lineup, performing both the best of their past repertoire and brand-new music. While the band’s earlier lyrics were primarily in English, their new material features Estonian-language lyrics, marking an exciting new direction for the ensemble.
