Marvi Vallaste is an Estonian singer whose smooth yet captivating voice has brought joy to listeners for nearly two decades. She majored in pop-jazz singing at Georg Ots Tallinn music college and has made a career as a soloist and backing vocalist. Marvi has worked with some of Estonia’s most distinguished artists, even performing as a backing vocal at the 2012 Eurovision song contest. Her debut at Jazzkaar was back in the fall of 2005, where she performed songs by the masterful jazz musician Horace Silver.
America’s legendary pianist and singer Nat King Cole made a name for himself in music history with an array of gems like “Mona Lisa”, “Unforgettable”, “Smile”, etc. His daughter Natalie followed in his steps and became a wonderful singer, primarily singing r&b and funk. In 1991 she recorded a new duo version of “Unforgettable” where she used recordings of her father’s singing. Her album of the same name won Natalie a whopping 7 Grammy awards. Needless to say, both Natalie and Nat King Cole have made history in jazz.
At this year’s Christmas Jazz she will be performing a repertoire of mesmerizingly beautiful songs from jazz legends Natalie and Nat King Cole.
