Bill Laurance and Michael League are back in Estonia! Following their electrifying performance with Snarky Puppy at last year’s Jazzkaar, the duo now presents a more intimate and introspective alternative to the high-energy funk-soul-jazz experience they are renowned for. As close friends and musical kindred spirits, Laurance on piano and League on fretless bass and oud create an intimate and dynamic musical conversation, offering audiences a unique and soulful journey.
The duo has released two studio albums under the renowned ACT label: Where You Wish You Were (2023) and Keeping Company, released in November last year. Their music emphasises a pure, organic approach, steering clear of excessive technical processing and overdubbing. Influenced by soul and jazz, their free-flowing compositions delve into the deeply personal musical worlds of the two creators. The duo’s work is akin to Polaroid snapshots – spontaneous, intuitive, and unedited – capturing moments of raw immediacy that invite listeners to join their shared musical journey.
Bill Laurance is a British composer and musician who is a member of the band Snarky Puppy. He has won four Grammy Awards with the group, collaborated with artists like David Crosby and Eddie Roberts, composed music for films, and released five solo albums.
