The Christmas jazz festival moves from traditional and contemporary jazz to fado with the bright fado musician Ana Moura from the younger fado generation.
It seemed that the singer is very much loved by Estonian audience. Among the spectators were known faces and public figures, like the President of Estonian Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
As Ana Moura had performed at Jazzkaar in 2009, it was her second show in Estonia. This time musician brought fresh melodies and audience’s favorite compositions. The incredibly talented band accompanied her during the concert.
The Portuguese temper and rhythms, combination of very passionate vocal power of the singer, heartfelt music were delivered very slightly and smoothly to the attenders. Ana Moura herself possessed the stage. She interacted with the audience, who accompanied her with clapping. At the same time Estonian audience sang with her in Portuguese. All the concert was full of positive energy.
We could not forget the moment when Ana Moura left the stage for her band to play solos. Percussionist Mario Costa was so into the moment that the drums fell over because of the hard hitting. This sudden moment made the concert somewhat more entertaining for the audience.
Although most of the audience might not understand Portuguese lyrics, the very deep soar voice made the spectators understand the unforgettable rhythms full of sadness and festivity. In conclusion the fado experience Ana Moura and her band delivered in the frame of Christmas jazz festival will stay long in the memory.
