News

Springtime jazz celebration Jazzkaar will host exclusive home concerts where music lovers are greeted in a cosy atmosphere by singer Liisi Koikson, true jazz legends Raivo Tafenau and Meelis Vind and the nominee for the Young Jazz Talent award, singer Anett Tamm. A limited number of tickets for Jazzkaar home concerts are available from today.

Jazzkaar’s beloved home concerts had do be briefly put on hold due to the virus outbreak. While musicians performed on house terraces at the last year’s festival in late August, this year’s Jazzkaar will again turn people’s homes into cosy jazz clubs. “It is a lovely concert format where performers are in the same energy field with the audience, providing an intimate musical experience. Musicians, homeowners and listeners of Jazzkaar have all longed for this reunion, which is now indeed possible after a pause of more than two years,” Anne Erm, the Artistic Director of Jazzkaar comments. Three families will open their doors to the audiences of Jazzkaar to treat them with soul-nourishing concerts.

The concerts will take place in an elegant modern dwelling in Tallinn Old Town, the creatively inspiring atmosphere of the Järve subdistrict and in the enchanting greenery of Viimsi, with a breath-taking view on the skyline of Tallinn. The series of home concerts will be opened on 26 April by jazz singer and songwriter Anett Tamm with guitarist Johannes Laas, performing her original songs as well as favourite pieces from the repertoire of other Estonian musicians. On 29 April, the beloved singer Liisi Koikson will bring the atmosphere of big jazz stages to the intimate home atmosphere. Saxophonist Raivo Tafenau and clarinettist Meelis Vind, true legends in Estonian jazz, will create spring spirit with wind instruments on 30 April.

Programme of home concerts:

26 April at 8 pm ANETT TAMM & JOHANNES LAAS in Mirjam & Sten’s home in Tallinn Old Town

29 April at 6 pm LIISI KOIKSON in Johanna & Kristjan’s home in Järve subdistrict

30 April at 3 pm TAFENAU & VIND DUO in Aigi & Jaanus’ home in Viimsi
