„Big Band Holidays“ Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra & Wynton Marsalis (USA) Jazz Pesulad presents!

This year’s Christmas Jazz opens with one of the world’s finest big bands, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by legendary trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Joining the orchestra are guest vocalists Catherine Russell and Georgia Heers. Together, they will bring the festive programme Big Band Holidays to the Christmas Jazz stage — a celebration of music that is sure to warm the heart and lift the spirit. Expect brilliant trumpet lines, world-class big band arrangements, outstanding vocals and treat yourself and your loved ones to an unforgettable evening with some of the finest jazz in the world.

The orchestra’s artistic leader Wynton Marsalis is one of the most influential jazz musicians of our time. A nine-time Grammy Award winner, he has released more than 150 recordings and is the first non-classical musician to have received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Music. Notably, he made Grammy history by winning in both the jazz and classical categories in the same year — an achievement he accomplished in both 1983 and 1984.

Catherine Russell’s father was the musical director of Louis Armstrong’s orchestra. A three-time Grammy nominee, Russell has toured and performed with numerous global stars, including David Bowie and Steely Dan. Georgia Heers is a standout jazz vocalist of her generation, known for her nuanced voice and deep connection to the jazz tradition. She is currently working on her debut album in collaboration with Cécile McLorin Salvant.

Big Band Holidays is a truly special concert: the audience will hear a Christmas programme created specifically for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, performed outside the United States for the very first time. It’s also worth mentioning that the orchestra’s 2026 world tour will mark the end of Wynton Marsalis’s tenure as its artistic leader.
