The pianist who has already mesmerised Jazzkaar audiences once before is returning to Tallinn! With his Sardinian mask tightly concealing his face, and his fingers effortlessly weaving new melodies, Lambert enchants music lovers with his extraordinary and deeply expressive compositions. His performance will feature his all-time best pieces alongside brand-new material from his latest album, Actually Good – and indeed, it lives up to its name! We can’t wait to experience Lambert’s fresh creations in a live setting and in a trio format!
Lambert grew up in northern Germany and began playing the piano at the age of four. During his school years, he became fascinated by drums, playing in funk and punk bands. Later, he returned to the piano and pursued formal music studies, exploring both jazz and classical music, though neither fully captured his passion. It took time for him to rediscover the piano in a way that truly resonated with him. He cites Chopin and Vampire Weekend as equally influential, with a particular admiration for composer Jan Johansson. To date, Lambert has released eight studio albums, along with several live recordings. His creative home is the prestigious London-based label Mercury KX, which also represents Ólafur Arnalds, Jonny Greenwood, and Bat for Lashes.
In an interview, Lambert once shared that he had two callings in his youth: music and chess. He chose music because, as he put it, “you can’t lose in music.” We’re certain the audience will feel the same – Lambert’s performances offer a memorable and deeply moving musical experience.
