Ten studio albums. Nineteen years of consistent touring. Five Grammy Awards. A group with a rotating lineup of nearly 20 members, who all share the same goal: to rejoice in performing together and always keep themselves creatively alert. Led by Michael League, the energetic supergroup Snarky Puppy will finally give a long-awaited concert in Tallinn!

After more than ten years of continuous touring and recording, the group, originally from Texas, was surprised to find themselves in the centre of attention of both the press and the public. Snarky Puppy began to be praised as an important player in the jazz world. However, as shown by their five nominations for the Grammy Awards, all of which they also won (Best R&B Performance in 2014 and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2023), Snarky Puppy is not jazz group in the classic sense of the term. Neither do they represent fusion. Perhaps it is wise to follow the advice of the New York Times journalist Nate Chinen: “Take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.”

Snarky Puppy is a constantly evolving entity, with their each new album taking a new vision and direction. “Snarky Puppy has always been a band that prioritises the sound of the music. Our rule is that it can’t sound like it sounded before,” Michael League comments. “Snarky Puppy’s music has to feel like it’s moving to a new, uncharted territory,” he adds.
