For the third year in a row, Jazzkaar, in collaboration with Tallinn UNESCO City of Music, warmly invites all children and their families to the Tallinn Children\u2019s Jazz Festival Kr\u00e4sh, taking place on 1\u20132 June at the Estonian Youth Theatre. The public festival day on 1 June promises a vibrant mix of educational workshops, engaging meet-and-greets with musicians, and live performances from young talents \u2013 culminating in a headline concert by Puuluup with special guest Liisi Koikson!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, the Kr\u00e4sh Festival unfolds in three exciting parts \u2013 music camps, a special music day for schools, and a public festival day on 1 June at the Estonian Youth Theatre. The 1 June headliners are favourites among both kids and grown-ups! Beloved actress and singer Saara Pius<\/strong> will kick off the festivities with her playful show Party in the Animal Kingdom<\/em>, joined on stage by jazz musicians Joel Remmel<\/strong>, Ahto Abner<\/strong>, and Janno Trump<\/strong> \u2013 all dressed in animal costumes! Airi Liiva<\/strong>, known for hits like Kiisud keerutavad tantsu<\/em> (Kittens Spin and Twirl<\/em>) and other beloved children\u2019s songs, will lead a joyful sing-along with the Laulupesa children\u2019s choir<\/strong> and live band. Wrapping up the vibrant day is the energetic and one-of-a-kind bowed lyre duo Puuluup<\/strong> \u2013 who got the world dancing at Eurovision 2024 \u2013 joined by the beloved Estonian singer Liisi Koikson<\/strong> as a special guest.<\/p>\n

In addition to the headline concerts, the 1 June festival day is packed with exciting surprises, including hands-on workshops and special artist meet-and-greets. The youngest festivalgoers are invited to join the toddlers\u2019 music circle led by seasoned music educator Monika Pullerits<\/strong>. Curious minds can discover a wide array of musical instruments in the Show Yourself, Instrument!<\/em> workshop, hosted by students and instructors from the Tallinn School of Music and Ballet (MUBA). Pianist Johan Randvere<\/strong> will enchant the audience with captivating stories about the world\u2019s most famous composers and their childhoods, while the fascinating realm of electronic music will come to life through effects pedal and looper masters Laura P\u00f5ldvere<\/strong> and Kusti Lemba<\/strong>. Kids can also once again unleash their energy through movement \u2013 Free Flow Studio\u2019s radiant instructor Eghert-S\u00f6ren N\u00f5mm<\/strong> invites all young dancers to a jazz-funk workshop. A true highlight of the day will be the Youth to Youth stage<\/strong>, where tomorrow\u2019s music stars take the spotlight. Featured performances include the Tallinn Youth Ukulele Orchestra<\/strong>, youth bands LAMUKO<\/strong>, Luminestents<\/strong>, \u00dcleOja<\/strong>, as well as four fresh ensembles formed during the Kr\u00e4sh music camp.<\/p>\n

The Tallinn Children\u2019s Jazz Festival Kr\u00e4sh will be held on 1\u20132 June at the Estonian Youth Theatre. The first day of the festival is open to all music lovers, both big and small. On 2 June, the music programme will be dedicated exclusively to school groups by pre-registration \u2013 and the places for this year\u2019s music day are already fully booked.<\/p>\n

Day passes for Kr\u00e4sh on 1 June, concert tickets, and music activity area passes are available at Piletikeskus. This educational and inspiring festival, which brings young people closer to music, is organised in collaboration between the Jazzkaar Festival and Tallinn UNESCO City of Music.
