Spring and Jazzkaar are inseparable. The twenty fourth Jazzkaar takes place from April 19th to 28th<\/strong> at the specially built unique Marina Pavilion at the Port of Tallinn grounds. Jazzkaar organizes the festival in this exalting atmosphere with the help of Prike, RGB and Port of Tallinn. Traditionally the concerts also take place at other cities \u2013 on Viljandi and Tartu there are even small festivals.<\/p>\n <\/body> <\/html><\/p>\n The main performers are soul-jazz talent Zara McFarlane<\/strong> from the UK, Japanese charming piano virtuoso Hiromi<\/strong>, American new-generation star vocalist Gregory Porter<\/strong> and the New Quartet of the legendary composer-sax player Charles Lloyd<\/strong> featuring Jason Moran, Reuben Rogers and Gregory Hutchinson. That concert is also a part of the maestro\u2019s 75th birthday tour. For this occasion also a documentary of one of the most important and colourful musicians in the jazz world were made.<\/p>\n The first weekend of the festival will focus on young talents. The festival will be opened by Zara McFarlane Quintet from London; at Theatre NO99 Jazz Club perform musicians from Norway, Sweden and Estonia Hanna Paulsberg Concept<\/strong>, Heliotroop<\/strong> and MaiGroup<\/strong>. At Marina Pavilion Ergo Jazz Session concert-series is continued by the German pianist Nils Frahm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The best European jazz is offered by the French masters Andy Emler Trio<\/strong>, Michel Portal<\/strong> and Bojan Z<\/strong>, Austrian accordion-cello duo Klaus Paier-Asja Valcic<\/strong>; fashionable and magnetic Hildegard Lernt Fliegen<\/strong> from Switzerland; Kruglov \u2013 Soo\u00e4\u00e4r Quartet<\/strong> and many others. The internationally acknowledged Italian trumpet virtuoso Fabrizio Bosso<\/strong> with his Quartet are playing to the Italian cultic film \u201eThe Easy Life\u201c (1962). Her fresh album \u201eFirst Moments\u201c will be presented by the marvellous Hedvig Hanson<\/strong>. World music is represented by Serbian guitar trio Balkan Strings<\/strong> and Portugese young fadista Claudia Aurora<\/strong>.<\/p>\n On Sunday the tradition of free concerts will be continued at unfamiliar locations in Tallinn Old Town. Young musicians from G. Ots Music School will fill the streets and parks of Tallinn with vibrant music during the whole festival period. Meet them at the harbour, in the airport, shopping centres, streetcars and elsewhere!<\/p>\n On Friday and Saturday evenings Marina Pavilion is transformed to a club with some really hot performers, such as Estonian Ultima Thule<\/strong>, American Naturally 7<\/strong>, some young club bands and DJs.<\/p>\n The festival is supported by the City of Tallinn, Estonian Cultural Endowment, Estonian Ministery of Culture, foreign institutions and local partners.
