At the opening concert of Autumn Jazz, we are thrilled to welcome composer, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist Argo Vals<\/strong> to the stage as he presents his short album Lavendel<\/em>, released this May. For this special performance, Vals will be joined on stage by an acoustic guitar trio, vocalist Kitty Florentine<\/strong>, and synth wizard Galaktlan<\/strong>. The captivating music will be enhanced by visuals from Alyona Movko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Lavendel<\/em> is a short album of six compositions, centred around the acoustic guitar. Its contemplative, finely crafted music is marked by sparse, organic production. With a deliberately minimalist soundscape, Lavendel<\/em> stands in sharp contrast to Vals\u2019s previous, richly textured and predominantly electronic album\u00a0In Loving Memory Of<\/em>, signalling a new creative direction. And it sounds absolutely beautiful! Alongside Kitty Florentine and Galaktlan, the concert lineup at Autumn Jazz will feature Karl Petti<\/strong>, who also played on the album, as well as Sulo Kiivit<\/strong> and Siim Kartau<\/strong> on nylon-string guitars, specially invited by Argo to join this performance.<\/p>\n Although Argo Vals\u2019s first instrument is the guitar, he has also deeply explored the vibrant realms of drum machines and synthesisers. Alongside his solo albums \u2013 Tsihcier<\/em>, Nokturn<\/em>, and In Loving Memory Of<\/em> \u2013 he has composed music for numerous dance productions over the past 15 years and has collaborated, and continues to collaborate, with artists such as Karl Petti, Imandra Lake, Pia Fraus, and Kaschalot, among others.
