Snarky Puppy began to be praised as an important player in the jazz world. However, as shown by their five nominations for the Grammy Awards, all of which they also won (Best R&B Performance in 2014 and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2016, 2017, 2021 and 2023), Snarky Puppy is not jazz group in the classic sense of the term.
